And so it finally snowed...
Yes. After more than 2 months of the dry weather, it finally snowed again. Even though I'm not really that hyped up about snowing as I was before, I'm still glad it snowed today because sis hadn't had a chance to experience snowing at all since she came here.
Experiencing snow at Stony Brook is a little different from experiencing it at Brooklyn. Suburban life rocks ok. (well, not the bus-taking part though). The whole campus looks so beautiful after the coating of snow. It's still snowing outside, but according to weather.com it's going to change to sleet, then rain. After that, it will be raining for 2 whole days. Goodness, I really don't know how am I going to survive the next 2 rainy days. I really despise going out of the house on rainy days!!! Plus, the snow will be gone when it rains and I haven't had a chance to take pictures of it yet!!! Grrr...Brrrrr....
I think I'm getting more and more accustomed to life here at Stony Brook. At least I'm gaining the local momentum, and immersing myself in its culture. You can do it too, just talk to anyone who looks friendly. I talked and smiled to a few people at the hospital bus stop today (hospital staff) and they all responded so happily and sincerely. And if you don't know something, just ask. There are people who will always be ready to help you if you voice it out. Also, I'm not taking that much taxi anymore (chup!! don't let me be late tomorrow morning!!) but next week I'll be having 2 evening exams from 8 to 10 at night, which means I'll have to take the taxi home. And you know what??!!! Taxi fare increased from 14 to 16 to 18 dollars in just two weeks time!!! That's really a very very very good motivation for me to wake up 5 minutes earlier in order to wait for the bus 10 minutes earlier in order to avoid missing the bus and taking the taxi. Well, anyway, it was nice sitting in the warm bus shelter, talking with the people and watching the snow outside :)
I've been up to quite a lot this past week. Hope that everything will stay smooth and I'm praying the my results won't slip. TWO MAJOR TESTS COMING NEXT WEEK ONE AFTER ANOTHER!! BIO AND CHEM!! I have to start studying now. But my excuse is that I'm running a temperature right now, must be from running in the cold to catch the shuttle bus to the hospital. Shit me la..fever can blog but cannot study? No logic, at all.
