Final Semester Thoughts
In approximately 3 months and 1 week, I'll be done with this long journey that began all the way back...
I may have taken some extra time here and there with all the schooling, but here it is finally, I'll soon be a student no more. I'm having mixed thoughts, but overall really looking forward to be done. (There's still the NAPLEX and MPJEs, I know...)
So many things have happened along the way, simply lumping these past few years together as "pharmacy school" really can't capture what it has been like. Looking back, I've been the happiest unhappy person, if that makes any sense. I think what I've gotten out of my experience here are far more than what I have originally bargained for, when I first decided to further my graduate studies in Midwestern US. I can still remember how adamant I was about coming to Minnesota - great school in a new environment, with new people, new challenges, new everything basically - funny how life turns out. Who knew, but God who had already planned it all out in this refinery of His?
Two weeks before last Christmas, a near-death event gave this feeling of jadedness a few strong jolts. With all that I've gone through, I thought I'd seen it all (how naive!), but I haven't. No. Nor will I be lamenting that I've seen it all ever again. Life is just full of surprises, all the time - embrace them! Keep smiling and try not to have PTSD after those surprises, not fun.

I got to chat briefly with an oncology radiologist this week - nothing special, you know, just the usual conversation one holds as one walks down the hallway to attend a tumor conference at lunch time. He gave me a diagnosis of my "person", which was super random and very surprising, I mean, who hands out diagnosis like that?! But since it's a nice compliment, I'll record it here as one of my future pick-me-up's. I was told that I'm a "very happy person", and he would be willing to bet all of his money on me being successful in life, than betting even some of his money on winning the Power Ball hah!
Honestly, I don't know if he was just joking or he saw through the happy unhappy person in me, and had wanted to encourage me. But! A compliment given shall be a compliment received! School life may be coming to an end, but I will still need fuel to keep burning till then.
Maybe I'll blog more meanwhile, too. Till then :)
